Xchange gay bar, at The Triangle in Bournemouthhad its license revoked in March after numerous noise and safety complaints. However, the long-standing bar and club could be seeing a renaissance. A licensing application submitted to BCP Council from a newly-formed bar based in Bournemouth requests a new license for the site.
The application was submitted by Ratio Bars Limited, a company set up only in September with a registered address in Bournemouth and a contact in Wimborne. Ratio Bars has requested permission to open the site for these licensed activities from 9pm-5am Monday-Sunday. This does not suggest an intention from Ratio to have these as its opening times, but instead grants it permission to operate within these times. Following previous complaints about noise nuisance to the local area, the bar was closed with the final straw including concerns about drink spiking and customer safety.

Signage will poole displayed at the exit asking customers to leave quietly and to respect the residents in the vicinity. The premises licence holder shall maintain overall control of the sound system. The level of sound shall be set so as not cause a nuisance to nearby residents. Doors will remain closed except for access and egress.
Management will actively monitor any queue in order to keep noise to a minimum.
